THE PAGES OF HISTORY |

| The king town of Pudukkottai,
once the seat of the imperial Thondamans, beautifully
decked with palatial stately buildings, now occupied by various
Government offices, is a sight to behold. |

The three Government
Colleges - one for Education, one college of Arts and
Science for women and the other a centenary and quarter
old Rajah's college - have been offering higher education
in the backward district of Pudukkottai. Obviously,
they were dealing with conventional fields of study.
With the explosion of knowledge and the emergence of
new fields of Science and Technology the demand for
the new courses among aspiring public was ever increasing.
To meet this field, the Karpaga Vinayaga Educational
Trust came forward and established the " J.J.
College of Arts and Science" which started functioning
from 1994. |

VINAYAGA EDUCATIONAL TRUST |
|
The trust has been instituted
by a group of philanthropists with an avowed objective of
serving the society by providing facilities, for value based
education with a vocational bias. As a maiden venture, they
embarked on the project of establishing a college in the
socially, economically and educationally backward district,
Pudukkottai, under the name and style of "J.J. College of
Arts and Science". |
