The Department of Information Technology
was established in the year 1999 with the introduction of a
Two Year Post-Graduate Programme (M.Sc. Information Technology).
The Department has advanced computers in its laboratory with
latest software. The Curriculum has a high standard and matches
with those institutes offering similar courses at the international
level. Priority is on practical training to every student. The
courses are regularly updated in order to maintain excellence
in this highly competitive area. The Department offers the students
round the clock internet facilities to improve their skill sets.
In the year 2000 an Undergraduate Programme was introduced. |

Intercollegiate Meet “CAIT’08”
The Department conducts intercollegiate Technical
meet as an Annual feature. During 2007-2008 the Meet was organized
as “CAIT’08” on 27.02.2008. About 17 colleges
participated. Dr. E. Ramaraj, Director, Computer Centre, Alagappa
University, Karaikudi felicitated the students.
Computer Training programme
Basic Computer training programmes are conducted
for the Police Personnel of Pudukkottai District, every month
from Sep’08 onwards
Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development
(IECD) Training programme
Our college is an extension centre of the IECD cell of the Bharathidasan
University. The 41 courses of the IECD can be conducted in this
extension centre the Department of Inofrmation Technology has
been assigned the following courses from Nov’08 to Feb
’09.
