The Department offers instruction in the following areas
- Networks
- Data Mining and Data Warehousing
- Microprocessor and its applications
Computer Science is the study of the design
and operation of computer hardware and software, and of the
application of computer technology to science, business and
the arts.
The Department of Computer Science was established
in the year 1994 with the introduction of a Three Year Under-Graduate
Programme, (B.Sc. Computer Science). A two Year Post-Graduate
Programme, M.Sc. Computer Science (1998) and M.Phil. Computer
Science (2002) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications
(P.G.D.C.A.) (2002) were introduced. The Department has well
furnished classrooms and laboratories. The courses are regularly
updated in order to maintain excellence in this highly competitive
area.
The examination system involves regular internal
evaluation with sufficient credits for laboratory sessions,
seminars and aptitude for learning. The Department has ICT devices
to support the teaching-learning process. |
